A Trip Back in Time with ALLPRO’s ScanX Discover ™ Digital Imaging System
ScanX Discover’s state-of-the-art imaging technology is being used during the renovation of the renowned Charles W. Morgan, North America’s last surviving wooden whaleship at the Mystic Seaport, Museum of America and the Sea. Utilizing the ScanX Discover, shipyard personnel at Mystic Seaport can now clearly see how this historic wooden ship was constructed in 1841 (twenty years before the Civil War).
The team undertaking the restoration includes Mystic Seaport Museum personnel, Bill Movalson of ALLPRO Imaging, Doug Bookholt of Bookholt Associates, and Paul and Brendon Lukaniec from Comet X-ray.
ALLPRO Imaging’s portable ScanX Discover system enables the renovation crew to take radiographs of the ship in the shipyard, view the digital images on their laptops and make on-the-spot determinations regarding needed repairs for this enormous undertaking.
